A Tattoos for life not just for christmas

In this day and age people mark themselves with whatever symbols, lettering, pictures etc they want, I dont disagree with this at all having recently gained one, but what gets me is the reasons for getting tattoos. Once you get one its perminent
(obviously) not unless a dog bites off the chunk of flesh where the tattoo is - Sam but do you think the reasons given are good enough to have a mark on your body forever. Some say its to commemorate a loved one, others say it looks cool, some even do it to please the people around them.

To me, the tattoo just seems more then what it is, its a meaningful piece of art that in a way is an extension of my body, im happy with the outcome and spent quite some time thinking about it prior.

But I wish to know what you think, so let me know, do you agree with tattoos or not.

If your considering getting a tattoo yourself dont use this poll as a guideline, because only you know if you wish to get one, if you feel your getting it for the wrong reasons then maybe you should talk to someone but otherwise, go for it.

A few more things though if your going to get one, the first thing im asked about it is "did it hurt", we all have our own preferences, for me it didnt hurt at all but it may for others, next is to be careful where you get your first and what you get first so dont go to overboard, finaly once you get it done you do feel different........and it itches like Fuck after
